Just an hour’s drive from the M6, and three miles south of Dalbeattie, a side road turns west and leads you to the beautiful waterside village of Kippford. Nestled on the banks of the River Urr as it makes its final journey into the Solway estuary, the Anchor, on a clear day, enjoys fine views across the water to the spectacular peaks of The Lake District.
Weary walkers, and worn out dogs, are welcome to relax next to the log fire in our homely bar, while the Lounge enjoys a great view across the estuary. In warmer weather, we have plenty of room for tables and chairs outside - enjoy a meal, or just a drink, and watch the world go by.
